Keith: What are your guys' influences or favorite bands?
Eric: Oh man, good question.. favorite bands? My all time favorite band is Finch, I'd have to say that's always been my answer.
Andrew: Uhh, I don't know, I like a lot of stuff. I really like listening to Jackson 5, and John Mayer. Tons of stuff, I don't really have a favorite.
Kelly: Is that one of your influences as a singer/performer is John Mayer?
Andrew: Probably.
Keith: Alright Andrew, is it hard being in two bands at once?
Andrew: Well it works out fairly easily, at times it's hard because you have like a full schedule of things to do all of the time. With having even one band it's busy, so you just have to plan things out.
Keith: Are you in school too?
Andrew: No, I'm not in school right now, luckily.
Kelly: Is it hard to like, play shows with both TSA and Danger:Radio because you have to do a lot of singing?
Andrew: Uhh, I don't know. Like when we went on tour last time, I think that the first couple of days were really hard, but after awhile you just kinda like build endurance for it.
Keith: So when is Eric leaving for his mission?
Kelly: [looking at Eric] When are YOU leaving for your mission?
Keith: Well, for the recording!
Eric: That's actually a really good question. For people that are LDS usually go when they're 19, and I'm almost 21, so, I've waited awhile. It's not decided when I'm going to go, but kinda whenever I feel is right to go.
Kelly: Where are you going?
Eric: That's another good question, I don't know yet. Until you fill out the paper work, you don't know where you're going to go.
Keith: So will you guys be breaking up?
Eric: I wouldn't necessarily say breaking up, more like putting it on pause if that's what it comes to. Danger:Radio will do its thing, and ya know, if the Scene Aesthetic is still around, then it is.
Keith: Will you guys continue to write before Eric leaves?
Andrew: Yeah, we actually just finished recording a brand new song just last night.
Eric: We're pretty stoked about it.
Andrew: Whenever it comes ya know.
Eric: One of those things that can't be forced, but we'll always be writing.
Keith: How has Myspace contributed to your success?
Eric: Oh wow.
Andrew: I think like, it's contributed a ton! Because it's a huge network that kids from all over share and it's really easy to find out new music… to spread the love!
Kelly: Is that where you first posted 'Beauty in the Breakdown', or was that Purevolume?
Eric: No, it was definitely Myspace. It's crazy the way Myspace has developed because more and more bands are utilizing that. Like instead of flyering for shows, they post bulletins on Myspace. It's just a more efficient way of getting the same reaction.
Kelly: So when you guys first posted that song, did you guys have any feeling that it'd blow up to what you are today?
Eric: Not at all.
Andrew: No, no way.
Eric: I mean, we didn't even consider it a band. It was just definitely something Andrew and I came up with; we wrote a song. We needed to make a name for it because Myspace requires an account and user name so we were just like "what should we name this band?" "The Scene Aesthetic"… so we went with that.
Kelly: Where did you come up with that name?
Andrew: It pretty much just means 'The Beautiful Scene'. At the time I was looking for a name for Danger:Radio and I had made this huge list of band names and that was really the only one that I had remembered off that list, so I told Eric, and he liked it, so we kept with that.
Keith: Are you guys signed to a label?
Eric: Yeah.
Keith: What label?
Eric: It's actually kinda an independent label, it's kinda just starting up. It's called DW Records, affiliated with Destiny Worldwide. And a good friend of ours, Brandon Metcalf, is actually starting that label. Things are going really well with the success that we've had of selling CD's on our own, like we're getting a distro-deal right now, so we're gearing up for the re-release of our CD retail, so it's a big step in the right direction.
Kelly: So you released your CD independently?
Eric: Yeah.
Kelly: Okay.
Keith: Are you guys happy with the outcome of your album?
Eric: Absolutely! I would say, for doing a lot of it on our own, and then the full band songs we worked with of course Tom Pfaeffle, from Tank Studios. But all of the other stuff we pretty much just recorded in my basement, so I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Kelly: You guys have a huge list of tour dates, is Danger:Radio affiliated with this, or are you putting that band on hold?
Andrew: Yeah, both bands are going out for this; going out and touring the country.
Eric: [points to van] This is our big rig that we're taking!
Andrew: Hopefully it lasts… nah, it should be fine. We haven't had any problems with it so far, besides a flat tire in Oregon once.
Keith: Where's the farthest place east you're going?
Eric: New York?
Andrew: We're going to Florida too.
Keith: Do you prefer playing acoustic or with the full band?
Eric: I personally prefer acoustic.
Andrew: It's a lot easier to just carry a guitar around and stuff. We actually have the keyboardist of Danger:Radio playing a couple songs with us this tour. It will be really good.
Eric: Incredible! His name is Jackson…He's a genious.
Keith: Smarts?
Eric: Yeah smarts, and just like musically talented. You'll hear them tonight.
Andrew: Yeah, he learned the songs last night.
Keith: What is your favorite TSA song lyrically, and what is your favorite song to play?
Andrew: At this point right now, I'd have to say the new one for both.
Kelly: The new one that you recorded last night?
Andrew: Yeah.
Kelly: Oh, well yeah… That helps.
Eric: You'll hear it tonight, we're going to play it. It's just, Andrew has a harmonica, I play tamborine, and there's a guitar.
Kelly: Any cowbell?!
Andrew: No, no cowbell.
Eric: We might introduce the cowbell later.
Kelly: Sweet. Well, thanks for the interview guys! Good luck on tour and we look forward to hearing your new material!
